PVC pipe

Hola Familia!!!

This week has been a great and very successful week, and I can say that I definitely have mastered my pvc pipe skills. Now when I get back, I will be able to fix any kind of sprinkler system!

So EVERY kind of pipe system, whether sewer, water, whatever, is made of pvc, and they don't even put them in the ground or anything. They just stick up out of the ground!!! So they break all of the time. Now in the United States, you could go to Lowes or somewhere and buy a part and fix the problem, but here in Guatemala they don't have special pipes and converters to fix the problem!!! So what you do, is if a pipe breaks, you take another pipe and heat it up in a fire and expand it just so it's big enough to snug over the other pipe. After that, you put some strong glue on it and call it good! And now after doing it 2 or 3 times, I can fix it in less than 20 minutes.

We've found that this is a really good way to find new investigators, or to help the investigators that we already have. The only problem is that they don't sell short pieces of pipe. We actually had to buy a 25 ft long pipe and it stretches all the way down our longest hallway in our house! It's pretty funny!! But after doing a lot of service, cooking, and putting our faith and trust in the Lord, I would have to say that we have been experiencing a lot of success. This Sunday we brought 8 people to church, which I've never even come close to before. And it was the most in our zone and probably other zones! Of these 8 people, 6 were a complete family, which is my dream to work with a whole family. As they all came to church, all the members were so nice and made them feel welcome. The members told us that they can't remember the last time that the missionaries brought a whole family to church. So I definitely thought that was awesome, and because of all the love the members showed, I know this won't be the last time this family comes to church!

Just having that family come to church, changed the entire attitude of the ward. We gained a lot of confidence with the members, and now they want to actually help us with this family. There is now a strong spirit and a desire to help and serve the missionaries!

Well, it sounds like everyone had a great week! les amo mucho! Tengan una feliz semana!
