This week was a great week!

Hola Familia!

This week was a great week not only for Elder Abreau and I, but also for Diego and Pocho as they both entered into the waters of baptism. It was a really good day. Claudia(Diego's mom) told me, that she will remember this baptism the most because her son baptized her other son!

One problem that is starting to occur is that everyone is telling me that I'm going home, that I don't have anytime left. I feel like I still have time! I mean one month is a lot of time! But after making such great relationships with all the people here, especially with Claudia and her family, it's going to be so hard to leave them! Good thing they all have Facebook and Skype. ;)

Now the weird part about having little time left, is making baptism dates after the date that I get home! We have 11 baptism dates right now, and about half are for after I get home haha! I was so excited this week! José, Maria and their little daughter all came to church. Also John, Diego and Pocho´s cousin came to church, which for us is a miracle! He has been leaving behind drugs and drinking, and now he is working his way to his baptism date for the 6th of June!

We also have been visiting Jorge and Maria. They promised us this week that they will attend with us, so we are hoping to have a good Sunday this week. Not only that but Elder Galvez, a member of the seventy, will be coming to our sacrament meeting so that's pretty cool! Well I love all you guys and hope you have a great week!

Family Week

Hola Familia!

This week was a great week! The area presidency held a "family week" for all of Central America! So every night last week there was a different activity for the family! It was a perfect time to invite all of our investigators. Then on Saturday there was a stake talent show, it was super cool to see some of the talents that had to do with Guatemala's culture. Then on Sunday the week ended with a satellite session with the area presidency speaking about topics based on the family.

My companion and I are excited for this Saturday because we will be having 2 baptisms!!! Diego and Pocho will be getting baptized. They are the son and nephew of Hermana Claudia, our recent convert. She is the best, and already has a calling in the Young Women's presidency! Every Sunday she teaches her class. She has had a big influence on Diego and Pocho and the example she has set for them has helped them make the decision to be baptized.

Also we are teaching some really neat families! One family is Josè, Maria and their baby. One cool thing about them is that Josè is 6 foot 4, which is very tall in Guatemala! And their baby is the cutest thing ever. They are progressing a lot! We hope to see them in white for the month of June. :)

The church is true! I love seeing the change of heart in my investigators and I know that only the Lord's work could truly make this significant change. Nothing else in the world could have such an effect! So therefore, this is the Lord's church!

Traveling!

Hola Familia

This week has been a great week! Also a week full of traveling. This Tuesday Elder Dalton and I headed down to Xela for a leader counsel that took up the whole day. Then we also had our zone conference on Thursday up in Colotenango which is about an hour-and-a-half from Huehue. Due to the traveling, this week has been a exhausting week!

Also tomorrow at four in the morning, I will be headed back down to Xela to go drop off Elder Dalton and to make sure that everyone from the zone makes it back up to Huehue. Hopefully we will have time to go eat breakfast at McDonalds. ;) Then on Thursday Elder Abreu and I will be heading down to Xela for a trainer meeting!

Although this week has been crazy, Elder Abreu and I have seen miracles and we have achieved a lot of the goals for this week. Starting on Monday, we had a family home evening with Claudia (our recent convert), her family, and President Bayron and his family(our ward mission leader.) We were able to make baptismal dates with her son, Diego and her nephew Pocho (Steven.) It was such a powerful and spiritual lesson that they immediately said yes!

Then to make things even better, Claudia's sister Yojana who is also a member called and told us that one of her sons John(who has had a hard life and been involved in drinking and drugs,) also wants to be baptized with his cousins on the 23 of May! That was such a cool thing to hear and so neat to see someone be able to turn their life around!

We also had 5 people come to a baptism this week, and 5 other people come to church this week. We hope that we can get all of them to come to church this Sunday! I know that this church is true! That Christ lives and because of that, today with our faith and diligence, we are able to see and live miracles! I love being a missionary!

Directed by the spirit

Hola Familia!

This has been a great week of hot work and sweat! On Tuesday morning during the district meeting, the secretaries called. They told me that my companion, Elder Abreu, needed to be in Xela that same day, to make the bus that goes to Guate to the capital to go and sign his visa. So all Tuesday and Wednesday, I was in Xela working with Elder Sanchez and Elder Dotty! I even saw a member from San Juan while I was there, so It was worth it.

Wednesday night we made it back to Huehue. But this week was a great week. Including Elder Dalton and his companion, we brought 15 investigators to church. The bishop got up and announced that we had already met the yearly goal to have the attendance at 150 people. We also have 19 people with baptism dates just in our area. So we are super excited and happy with the work and the trust that the Lord has in us.

On Sunday we saw a little miracle. We have been teaching this young family, Hermano Jorge, his wife Maria and their baby. They are always busy working, but on Sundays they have time for us to teach them. We have been teaching them for the past couple weeks. This Sunday we got to their house and knocked on the door and no one answered. Right before we left, I felt prompted to stick a little card that has a picture of Jesus Christ coming to the Americas under the door. After we left I remembered that we had their phone number so we decided to call them. Jorge answered and told us that they are very busy and that they would no longer have time to listen to us. We were pretty sad, but we continued working. About two hours later we got another call from Jorge telling us that he wanted us to come to his house right away. As we got to the house he told us that when they saw the picture that we had left, that they felt like they had rejected Jesus. We then had a very spiritual lesson with them and invited them to be baptized. They told us that if they received an answer, that they would for sure be baptized. They also told us that they would come to church this Sunday with us. They told us that they want to meet with us more often, and that they could make time for us to visit them on Saturday and Sunday. My companion and I are so grateful for the opportunity we have to be able to be directed by the spirit. I know that this is the Lord's work and that if we are obedient and doing all we can to preach his gospel, He will bring forth these miracles.

Other than that, I will be spending my last week with Elder Dalton. Next Tuesday he will be headed back to Utah. Then after that, It will be my turn.......even though I have mix feelings about that! haha Love you guys!
